Sarisbury Green Allotment Site 'Corner Area' Project

One of the Sarisbury Allotment Site projects is the tidying up and planting of a large corner area of the allotment site adjacent to Barnes Lane. It can’t be used as an allotment space because it is too dark and surrounded by protected oak trees.  Because of the trees, the ground conditions are too dry to grow vegetables and natural light is limited.

In 2018, the area was cleared of mountains of rubbish by CPBS operatives and the site was levelled at no cost to the WWAA by Mr Ben Spraggon of Warsash using his mini digger.Ben Spraggon

Ben’s excellent work left us with a 'blank canvas' of almost a quarter of an acre and it was decided that the area should be developed as a wild flower meadow area to encourage wildlife for environmental purposes and a leisure area for plot holders and others to enjoy.

Liz WoodSite Managers Martin and Robin are extremely grateful to Liz Wood, Plot 28a at Sarisbury who is using all her enthusiasm, skills, expertise and experience by leading on the development of the area by planting flowers and shrubs on the borders.

For that purpose, Liz is growing seeds and propagating cuttings at home as well as purchasing cost effective plants.  She has already made a huge difference with her hard work.

This is a project which requires substantial work. Anyone wishing to give a few hours of their time to support Liz should contact her on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that she can co-ordinate the work.
