Pat Metcalf
It is with sadness that we report the sudden death of Pat Metcalf, Secretary of the Western Wards Allotment Association, on Thursday 10th June. Pat passed away peacefully overnight with family by her side. Bob Hughes, WWAA Chairman said, "Pat took over the role from Gill Rock in November 2015 and has been a valuable asset to the Committee. I have passed our deepest sympathies to Walter and family at this sad time".
Gill will take on the role in the interim period - please contact her on 01489 576628.
Reminder from the Chairman regarding the use of hosepipes
Tenants have signed up to the Tenancy Agreement and are reminded of Rule 6.2 as follows:
'Hosepipes are not permitted for direct watering of plants nor the use of any attachments or sprinklers. Only watering cans/receptacles should be filled from a tap or water butt. Anyone found to be using hosepipes directly, and if there is sufficient evidence, will be put on notice'.
Water is one of our major costs and misuse, without control, risks the Association's ability to adequately maintain our Sites.

Rent increase wef October 2023
The WWAA management Committee has issued the following notice dated 23rd May 2023. A copy of the notice will be sent to plot holders with the rent renewals.:
To: All Tenants and Allotment Plot Holders of Hunts Pond Road, Lodge Road, Sarisbury Green and Warsash
You are hereby notified that, with effect from 1 October 2023, that WWAA will be increasing your rent from £7.50 per rod to £8.50 per rod.
WWAA Management Committee has deemed this necessary due to rising costs of water and it helps with maintaining financial stability for WWAA and its members. This is the first increase in the cost per rod for over three years and still represents great value for money.
You must inform your Site Manager in writing by the 30 September 2023 if you do not intend to continue to rent the Allotment Plot as a result of this increase.
Your notice will take effect as soon as it is received, and must be sent by either:
(a) certified mail, postage prepaid
(b) by email
(c) in person
to [each site manager to add their contact details]
