Alison McNulty, Gardening Team Administrator for Community First, a charity providing services across several areas in Hampshire, is looking for volunteers to provide a gardening service for older, vulnerable people. Alison says:
"We are currently developing and expanding our Home Services and one of these is a Gardening service for older, vulnerable people. The service we offer is for gardeners to assist with low-level gardening work, including:
- Weeding
- Mowing
- Light trimming & tidying of shrubs
- Low hedge trimming
We ask that clients provide all equipment and materials, unless agreed otherwise in advance, with the gardener and that tools and equipment must be in good working order. This a paid for service and gardeners are paid an affordable hourly rate, as set by ourselves and agreed with the client.
We are looking for people with a keen interest or experience in gardening who maybe have some time to spare and wondered if you would be able to promote the service to your members.
Major work or specialist expertise, is not what we are offering. We are offering a service that will enable people to live safely, and independently in their own homes".
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
