Posbrook Lane, Titchfield
We have 28 plots at this site. Plots are let by "the rod" and a typical 5 rod plot equates to 110 square metres. Annual Rental, which is payable in March each year is £11 per rod plus £5 annual membership of the association, meaning a 5 rod plot costs £60.00 per annum. This site is rented to the WWAA by the Portsmouth Diocese. To apply for an allotment please contact the site manager: Mr John Parsons on 07907 246645.
Posbrook Lane allotments are situated on the outskirts of Titchfield Village, adjacent to the cemetery, and easily accessed via Castle Street and Coach Hill.
About our Posbrook Lane Site
Toilets – We currently do not have a toilet at this site.
Parking – No on–site parking, parking available in Posbrook Lane.
Manure and Chippings – At some of our sites there are chippings and manure bins which are regularly topped up and free to use for tenants of those sites.
Equipment – Not currently provided on this site.
Buildings – In accordance with the Tenancy Agreement, Plot Holders have a choice of erecting a poly tunnel or a greenhouse on their plot. In addition, they can erect a fruit cage and a shed. This must be within the 20% cultivated area of their plot and subject to agreement of the installation with the Site Manager.
Chickens and Bees – currently none in place on this site.
Use of Water – Mains water is available to plot holders from standpipes situated across each site but, because water is an expensive resource, plot holders are encouraged to capture rainwater in water butts. When possible, plot holders are asked to water plants from a watering can. It is accepted that elderly or infirm plot holders may physically not be able to wield a heavy watering can. In such circumstances, spot watering with hoses is permitted provided the water is targeted at roots of plant. Spraying devices are not permitted in any circumstances.
Water Conservation – Sarisbury site managers are experimenting with the installation of IBC tanks each holding 1000 litres of rainwater collected on building roofs. Further IBC tanks will be purchased and rolled out if the experimental project proves successful.
