Lodge Road Fencing Project
Lodge Road plotholders will be aware that, for some time, the outer perimeter of their allotment site has been non-existent, making the site vulnerable to theft and vandalism. There is now an urgent need for a high fence around the perimeter to secure the site.
In January 2021 the committee met (virtually) to agree a way forward to finance the project. An approach was made to Hampshire County Council by Avoen Perryman (Hunts Pond Road plot-holder and Chairman-in-waiting), for a for a cash grant towards the new fencing project. The application was successfully granted by Councillor Seán Woodward on behalf of the Locks Heath Councillor Keith Evans who died recently from COVID 19.
To mark the occasion and at short notice, members of the WWAA committee met with Council representatives on Saturday 13th February at the Lodge Road site to thank them for their generous grant towards the project.
The County Council grant of £1000 reduces the overall cost of the project by some 25%. Many thanks to Avoen for his successful application.
